Does anybody know where I can get a couple of the plastic washers that go on the hardtop locks at the sholder position? My dealer and Rusty can only order the entire lock assembly.
you can get them from the dealers as a separate item, but if they won't play nice, look on German e-bay. A chap there has them on regularly for a couple of Euros ( or dollars to you). Search on W107 or SL 107 and that will find you most SL/C stuff

Does anybody check with the local dealer first? You might be surprised at how reasonable the prices are on some things...of course other things require a bank loan....

I think we are referring to the rear locks where there is a "captive" washer, not the top of the cowl. The top of the cowl I know is an MB part and is easily obtained. On the rear, mine aren't in great shape either. If they are impossible to get separately, they look like they could be cut out of polyethlene sheet.
I don't usually post any negative information about any company and certainly not without trying to resolve the issue directly with the company. I see a recommendation for Adsitco above. For anyone thinking of ordering from Adsit Co., be sure you know how they treat customers.
I ordered a used window regulator. I expected a used, but usable, part. They sent broken junk, pieces missing, bent shaft. After a long argument, they agreed to exchange it but, I had to pay the return shipping.
Fine, they said they would send me a very good one. I was willing to lose the $15 for the return shipping. Well, they sent junk again. Broken spring, bent regulator. Not even repairable.
I told them I just wanted to return it and be done with it. They refused and have stopped communicating. I have sent emails and letters, no response.
So, bottom line, they charged my credit card, sent junk, refused to even try to do anything. If you think this only applies to used parts, take a look at their return policy. NO RETURNS of anything, new or used.
I didn’t see this because my order was a phone order and no mention was made of any policy. Sorry, but I will never deal with them again. I will pay more to a company that has service with returns or go to the dealer.
Thank you for the clarification for everyone, Strife. I need the "captive" washer for the rear locks. Not the locks at the cowel. If I figure something out I'll let you guys know about it.
