I just got a new fuel pump from Rock Auto and I need some advice on installing it. I see the rubber hose coming down off the tank is leaking and was wondering what that small tin gadget it connects to is used for. Then there is another metal can next to the fuel pump which I assume is the filter which I also bought. Then there is another metal can above the fuel pump location with some hoses going to it . Is one of those metal gadgets the fuel pressure regulator. I have the MB service CD but I find it impossible to find anything. Very confusing to use.

Hi there, remember me?

I'm having the same sort of discussion with a bunch of folks on another site about the same sort of thing that you're talking about here.
In your case I believe you probably didn't get what you expected and the guy you bought it from and ebay let you down. This happens all the time. Like you said, you didn't do your home work and ask enough questions and simply believed what you were told because you wanted this car. That happens all the time as well.

I doubt there's policy about this sort of posting here. This happens all the time too. Someone buys something, decides they got screwed and posts on these internet sites about thier expirience with the notion that they're going to save somone else form their same ordeal. Problem is, it doesn't work.
It might make the poor bugger feel better but it ain't gonna get his money back. The dealer doesn't care, he has your money so you aren't hurting him. But he could hurt you if he thinks you slandered him....

In the end, all this does is foster a growing distrust for ebay ( well deserved for the most part ) a distrust for car dealers of all stripes and a disrespect for mechanics. I/we believe you but it's just your side of the story even if it's true. Didn't anyone tell you that this isn't the place for any kind of compensation for a car purchase that's gone bad?

Nice talking with you the other day and thanks for taking care of the valve seals for me.
