I have a 1987 560 SL. The problem is that the blower was only working on low and climate control , but not on high. Then the fuse blew. This happened previously and then I put in a newly rebuilt pushbutton control and it happened soon after installation. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I remember having a similar problem with my climate control switches, except my blower wouldn't work under any circumstance. I would turn the unit on and after several minutes the fuse would blow. I took a gamble and purchased a new blower motor, installed it and problem solved. Everything works perfect and no blown fuses in over a year. If you're very handy several shops sell rebuild kits cheaply. The kits include brushes which is usually the problem with these motors. Do a search on this site. I truly didn't understand if after you installed the rebuilt switch, the high setting worked for a short while or if the fuse blew after a short while. If the blower worked for a short while, your problem may lie elsewhere. If the high setting didn't work at all after the new switch and then blew a fuse, chances are you need a new blower.
Good Luck
Lou

I am am still having this problem. The blower works now with climate control, but not on high or low. It eventually blows a fuse. Does anybody know what causes this?
